Day in the Country

This social called “Your Potjie Day” by so many of our regular visitors takes place once a year somewhere in the vicinity of Wellington. This year was the 7^th time that this has taken place. The day was blessed with pouring rain – so badly needed – but we still had a fun day and from the feedback that we are getting from the clubs they really enjoyed the day and the food.

This event was started to make use of the unused fresh meat that we have left over after treating plus minus 400 senior citizens on an annual “Braai”. It is a really nice social day and the members of the Wellington Club thoroughly enjoy the fellowship. So many times we only get together to work, either at fundraising or service projects. The attendance is growing and we had 88 Lions on this day and we shall strive to make it even better. We hope that, as the word spreads, we will have more Lions and their friends and family next year, making this one of the biggest social events in 410A.
